NVBOTS Partners with Camp Lenox to Develop and Inspire Young Engineers through 3D Printing

The NVPro Unleashes Camper Creativity and Ability to Work as a Team

BOSTON – (August 11, 2016) NVBOTS, the provider of automated 3D printing solutions that are Built to Share™, today announced a growing partnership with Camp Lenox, a residential summer camp for boys and girls in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. Through the partnership, Camp Lenox and NVBOTS are offering a motivating 3D printing experience to campers, ages 6-16, who aspire to become innovators in engineering.

“NVBOTS has always been passionate about inspiring children of all ages to turn their ideas into realities through 3D printing,” said NVBOTS Chairman AJ Perez. “Camp Lenox is known for teaching campers the skills needed to be successful in the future, and we are proud to play a role in motivating each camper to learn truly valuable lessons they can apply to real-world experiences as they grow older.”

Since 2015, Camp Lenox has offered a 3D printing and deign course to its more than 400 campers, centered around the NVPro, an automated 3D printer offering campers a fun 3D printing experience through its unique sharing capabilities and intuitive cloud interface. Focused on teaching them how to design for 3D printing, while generating broader interest in engineering, instructors break campers into groups where they learn how to form their ideas into a principle-based approach, while working together as a team and solving problems with creative solutions. In addition, campers are able to print objects that can be applied within the camping experience itself, such as 3D-printed tree tags that help campers create a path for anyone trekking the woods.

“We pride ourselves on offering a stimulating camping program that incorporates an ideal blend of traditional sports with academic activities,” said Camp Lenox Director Richard Moss. “Not only has NVBOTS played an important role in making this happen, but the team’s willingness to be on-site to help campers, while addressing any issues that may arise, goes above and beyond a typical vendor engagement. NVBOTS is a true partner that cares about our success.”
